WORK --- One Prayer [+] Wednesday E-Devotion

I am so excited about the ONE PRAYER series that I almost cannot stand myself.  Conversations all around.  Encouragement on every page of the Bible.  God is showing up.  Man, this is what living for Jesus is all about.

When I see who the church is to be, I have to step back and then run forward and join hands and hearts with God.  He doesn't sit still, and He expects His people, the church, to do what He calls us to do.  In His time, not ours.  Far too many Christians are sitting on their 'you know whats' doing nothing.  Get up.  Get with it.  Give away what God has given you.  This is awesome work!

Romans 15:4,7-8 (nlt) ... And the Scriptures give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God's promises to be fulfilled...  Therefore, accept each other just as Christ has accepted you so that God will be given glory.  Remember that Christ came as a servant to the Jews to show that God is true to the promises he made to their ancestors.

It is simple.  Those verses tell us to do 3 things: give hope, accept others and serve people.  Jesus did it.  We should do it.  Easy task.  Right?

Nope.  This is some of the hardest stuff you and I will ever do.  Why?  Because we have to loose ourselves.  We have to give up our rights.  We have to do what God does and not worry about what we want.  All of that makes a difference in the lives of the people we encounter.  Who are they?  People Jesus wants to touch.  And Jesus wants to use you and me to touch their lives.

People need hope.  Hope that lasts (what Jesus gives).  People need to know and feel they are accepted (you cannot accept others until you know you are accepted...God does this and we should, too).  We gain the right to love and to share by serving people.  Jesus did it.  So should we.

One Prayer lets us see for ourselves where God is working.  It is our turn.  It is our choice.  Join Him.  What do ya say?

I was reading an article from a pastor that was sharing his heart for his church family and impacting his community one person at a time...
