what it takes to win

Are you ever amazed at what God does?  I am and often.

Sunday began as a great day, but I didn't expect some of the things I would see.  My parents were in town, and I love it when they visit cause they spoil the kids and my wife and I.  There were lots of new friends at church.  I then began to have some conversations.  Seems that God was up to something.

Before the service was over 2 people gave their lives to Jesus.  I learned this morning that 1 more person accepted Jesus on Monday after being with us.  God is up to some awesome things.

What does it take to win?  It takes letting God work in your life and through every thing you have.  Our series How to Be Rich continues, and Sunday we talked about winning.  Read on ...

Luke 16:10-11 (niv) --- Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much. So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches?

Being rich comes first from knowing what real and true riches are.  Winning with our riches comes with handling it right.  It being our money, our time and our possessions.  That is not always easy.

1 Timothy 6:17-19 (niv) --- Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.  Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life.

Add to true riches, true life.  Too many people are faking their way through life.  By using credit, they think they are rich.  By poor thinking, they think they are fine with miss using what they have.  But worse than both of those is believing the lie that life is all about self.  No.  Life is all about God, and God calls us to use what we have to serve others and to build up His kingdom.

What it takes to win is having real riches that lead you to real life.  And that is all about Jesus.  Praise God for the 3 people who accepted Jesus this weekend.  I am even more excited now than ever about what The Community Fellowship is all about!
