listening isn't an option

We all have occasions to listen to the people around us.  Some of those people are wise.  Some are not.  Listening is not a choice, unless you can’t hear.  But Jesus talks about seeing and hearing with our heart.

God has given us wisdom, but much of that wisdom m comes from listening to the spiritually wise people around us.  When we stop listening, we will have problems.

Commit yourself to instruction; listen carefully to words of knowledge.

Go yourself and listen to what the LORD our God says. Then come and tell us everything he tells you, and we will listen and obey.’

Those who listen to instruction will prosper; those who trust the LORD will be joyful.

The wrong voices, the wrong words leads us down a path or even gives us a life that we don’t want.  The right voices, the words of wisdom and the truth of God will give us the best life possible.

I’ve heard this phrase for a long time: you are not an island or a lone ranger.  Thinking you are alone or no one understands keeps you from listening to real truth.

May we have ears to hear truth and have insight to listen even closer when we hear from God.
