The old saying “if you fail to plan, you plan to fail” is totally correct. As we come to end of a full and blessed week I want to take some time and think through some of the things the Bible tells us about trusting God. Trust talks about having faith, believing truth and holding on to something that that is humanly impossible or that seems unreasonable.
Our choice is to trust our human instincts and wisdom, or we can trust what is superhuman or supernatural that comes from God who is bigger, stronger and smarter than all of our stuff combined. What will we trust in?
Take a few minutes to read through these verses as you plan to trust God:
Ephesians 1:3 NLT
All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ.
Proverbs 3:5 NLT
Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.
Hebrews 7:25 NLT
Therefore he is able, once and forever, to save those who come to God through him. He lives forever to intercede with God on their behalf.
Ephesians 2:8 NLT
God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God.
Psalm 85:8 NLT
I listen carefully to what God the Lord is saying, for he speaks peace to his faithful people. But let them not return to their foolish ways.
Ephesians 3:17 NLT
Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.
I chose to trust God before trouble comes, during and after. But I have come to understand that is a choice that has to be made before the heat gets turned up in your life. God is our friend during the good times too. God is our comfort at all times. God is wise in every situation.
I’m planning to trust God. How about you?
