It’s a great weekend for love. Really. It is. The Community Fellowship steps up, you and I step up, to demonstrate the love of God to our community and beyond by meeting needs and sharing Jesus.
Remember those around you that need to see out loud God’s love. Some of those people live in your house. Remember those who live near you. Remember those who have gone through difficult times in the past year. Remember those you don’t even know. Remember to share His love with others always, even on Valentine’s Day.
Sunday we continue our Back In The Day series and look at the 1980’s. Again, if you dress up, you might win a prize. We are going to take a look at a couple stories where God’s love won. God’s love is an incredible thing. Bring someone to church with you this Sunday morning at 10:10am!!! Also you are invited to a time of Bible Reading and prayer each Sunday night at 6pm.
Saturday is our monthly outreach where we share with those in need. It’s our 2nd Saturday FREE Community Meal and Clothes Closet from 9am until noon at the church in Collinsville. Volunteers are to arrive at 8:30. Please pass the word to those in need.
Each Saturday night our REACH ministry teams share a FREE meal at the Martinsville Hotel near the old courthouse in uptown Martinsville. Pray for this week’s team and those they will serve.
The Martinsville WINTER / WARMING SHELTER is open again each night as the temperature is below freezing and dropping even lower. Please pray for our guests as well as our volunteers who will be part of the shelter this weekend. If you would like to help with this project, let Pastor Michael know soon.
Valentine’s Day is a time we seek relationships and share love, but the kind of love the world talks about is often perverts and far from what God shows and tells us what love is. Pastor Michael will be highlighting some of the struggles of love in our society based on norms, media, relationships and the stuff that has become commonplace around us.
As Jesus followers this is a time when we have to pick up what God says and put it in practice in our lives. Love is not only patient and kind and full of hope. Love is also the means by which we live and share.
May God expose the places where love is most needed. May we take God at His word and let others see and experience real love through our lives. Have an awesome Valentine’s Day weekend, and we look forward to serving with you on Saturday and worshipping with you on Sunday!
