you matter, you are important

The concrete truth is that God loves people.  Everything He did, from the beginning of time was constantly reaching people.  His most precious thought and work is all about people.  It is not miracles or projects, money or buildings, but people because individuals matter to God.

Lots of people in Jesus’ day and in our day are seeking Jesus.  Some were seeking Jesus because they were building a case to have Him arrested and silenced.  Some are seeking Jesus because they are curious about all they have heard.  Still others are seeking Jesus because they have a need of some kind.

I believe Jesus is seeking out, looking for some of you today.  Maybe you are seeking Jesus.

Luke 19:10  NLT
For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost.

For whoever finds me finds life and receives favor from the Lord.

It is our job to help people find Jesus, but before we can help others we have to be found ourselves.  What an honor it is to help people find hope and life in Jesus Christ!  What a huge, big blessings to realize that I am found and that I matter to God.

God has called the church to do what Jesus did and seek out people who need Him.  If we are committed to letting people know they matter to God, we will do things that make this happen.  We will give people what they at the core of their being long for.

People matter to God.  You matter to God.  What are we willing to do to help someone know they are important?  The Church exists to do search and rescue.  That means “saved people find people”.  We will do something that lets people see and know that they are worth Jesus’ price paid on the cross.

To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak; I have become all things to all men, so that I may by all means save some.

Paul said he was willing to do whatever had to be done in order for some people to find Jesus or to be found by Jesus.  Remember that God rescued us as well.

For he has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son,

We have the right and the responsibility to seek out people who are seeking help, in need and who are seeking God whether they know it or not.  When we live lives of hope and live with confidence, people will come to know Jesus.  When people see God’s love demonstrated through kindness and compassion, they will know that Jesus is real.

Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.

People matter to God.  It is time to seek others for Jesus!
