Next week we will begin a new series at The Community Fellowship that is called YOUR VERSE. It is not tied to the popular Bible app, but it is about the verse or verses that God has attached our lives to through the journey we are on. We all have favorite verses.
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
Those verses moved into my life about 30 years ago and have continued to ring truth. It has been a promise as well as wise counsel for myself and others.
In these verses we understand the impact and effectiveness of praying. Worrying often cancels out our faith. But the thing that we put in place of worry, pray, is the very thing that takes us deeper in to the presence of God.
It is God’s desire to bless us with life and peace, but our choices of destruction, pain and pleasure that keep us from experiencing the purpose that God has for us. Anxiety or worry stamps out our faith. On the other side of the proverbial coin exercising our stamps out faith.
1 John 5:4 NLT
For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith.
Faith takes us places we cannot go on our own. This is faith in God and not in things that oppose God. It is faith in God and in the action of His son Jesus that changes everything beginning with our lives.
Prayer is an action of faith that exposes the fact that we believe God. May we be found interacting with and honoring God through our prayer lives this week.
Psalm 37:3-5 NASB
Trust in the Lord and do good; Dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness. 4 Delight yourself in the Lord; And He will give you the desires of your heart. 5 Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, and He will do it.
