COMMUNITY family notes

Dear Community Family

It is time for another Sunday of spending time together worshipping our great and gracious God.  I look forward to being with you, my church family, tomorrow morning.  But there are a few items I'd like to share with you.

First of all, Don't Forget to Set Your Clocks FORWARD one hour before you go to bed tonight.  Yes, you will be late to church if you don't.  Daylight Savings time actually begins at 2am tomorrow.

Second, we will be hosting a reception for Laura Towery and her family after Damian's funeral on Monday.  We will need people to bring food and some people to help serve beginning around 3:30 Monday afternoon.  Damian Ferrell's funeral will be at 2pm at Hairston Funeral Home on Starling Avenue with visitation at 1pm.

Third, a sweet friend of many of our church family, Callie Carter, passed away earlier this week, and her funeral will be Monday at 11am at Hillcrest Baptist Church.  Visitation is Sunday from 6 to 8pm at McKee Stone Funeral Home in Uptown.  Please pray for Denzel Carter and family.

Fourth, next Sunday, March 20th, following worship we will have a Kid's EASTER Celebration from noon till 2pm.  There will be food, inflatables and lots of fun.  After worship tomorrow there will be a meeting with Julie for all children's workers and those who would like to help with this event.

Fifth, EASTER is 2 weeks away!  Be praying for who you are going to invite to worship with us on this important day.  It is important to our faith as well to the basic facts of Christianity.  I am preaching a series right now called BASICS that shares the foundations of our faith.  Get ready for Easter...

Sixth, it is 3 weeks until Raceway Ministries work at Martinsville Speedway, and your help is needed to serve race fans and share Jesus with the thousands who will come to town.  If you would like to help, please see Lee Hobbs or Pastor Michael to sign up.

Seventh, our youth are raising money for summer camp.  Have you bought your discount card yet?  Ask one of our youth or Adrienne or Jennifer if you haven't gotten one.

Eighth and last, our current challenge to raise $25,000 for our Vision Fund and the New Campus has us over $24,500 at present.  THANK YOU to everyone who has helped make this possible.  More details to come...

I could go on and on, but I will stop there!  I am excited to see you all tomorrow morning.  Last Sunday was a great and exciting day at The Community as 15 people were baptized.  We also had a great crowd of people at church.  God is good!!!
Continue to #STOPandPRAY for the people that God puts on your mind and to demonstrate the love of God to our community with all kinds of acts of kindness as you have the opportunity.  God is working all around us.
