Easter quotes

And since we died with Christ, we know we will also live with him.

The most powerful truth for the Christian is the power of Jesus’ fulfillment of His God given purpose.  That is that Jesus lived on earth, born of a virgin, speaking and demonstrating the faith.  That is further that Jesus’ death was the price required and fulfilled payment of sin.  That is finally for us that Jesus is alive having risen from the dead.

There is more to Easter than a yearly observance of the tenants of our faith.  Too many people treat this weekend as a sacred holiday when it is truly a Holy day to be celebrated daily, lived out hourly and believed every minute of every day.

Think about Easter in light of what these great people had to say:

We are told to let our light shine, and if it does, we won't need to tell anybody it does. Lighthouses don't fire cannons to call attention to their shining - they just shine. --- Dwight L. Moody

God proved His love on the Cross. When Christ hung, and bled, and died, it was God saying to the world, 'I love you.' --- Billy Graham

The Bible tells us that Jesus Christ came to do three things. He came to have my past forgiven, you get a purpose for living and a home in Heaven. --- Rick Warren

Easter is meant to be a symbol of hope, renewal, and new life. --- Janine di Giovanni

Easter is very important to me, it's a second chance. --- Reba McEntire

And he departed from our sight that we might return to our heart, and there find Him.  For He departed, and behold, He is here.  --- St Augustine

Jesus's resurrection is the beginning of God's new project not to snatch people away from earth to heaven but to colonize earth with the life of heaven. That, after all, is what the Lord's Prayer is about.  --- N.T. Wright

If man had his way, the plan of redemption would be an endless and bloody conflict. In reality, salvation was bought not by Jesus' fist, but by His nail-pierced hands; not by muscle but by love; not by vengeance but by forgiveness; not by force but by sacrifice. Jesus Christ our Lord surrendered in order that He might win; He destroyed His enemies by dying for them and conquered death by allowing death to conquer Him. --- A.W. Tozer

The cross is the lightning rod of grace that short-circuits God’s wrath.  --- A.W. Tozer

Our old history ends with the cross; our new history begins with the resurrection. --- Watchman Nee

The reflection I walk away from those quotes with make me more and more grateful for the sacrifice and ready for the next resurrection.  We are blessed.  We are forgiven.  We are experiencing new life fully because of the outcome of Easter.

Celebrate Jesus and make it contagious.

He was handed over to die because of our sins, and he was raised to life to make us right with God.
