preview: connecting with God // Wednesday E-Devotion

1 John 4:16 (nlt) --- We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love.God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them.

Henry Blackaby told us years ago in his book Experiencing God that God's desire was a love relationship with Him.

Rick Warren in his book The Purpose Driven Life that God created us to fellowship with Him.

That means connecting. In the last two devotions of this week (Thursday and Friday) we will seek to know what it not just to 'know' God but to enjoy our time with Him just like we enjoy time with a family member or friend. God wants to connect with us.

This about it.

I hate it when my interent connection is slow or not connected at all. Some of that reminds me of my need for connecting with God!

Psalm 84:2 (nlt) --- I long, yes, I faint with longing to enter the courts of the Lord. With my whole being, body and soul,I will shout joyfully to the living God.

inspiration from C.S. Lewis

There are many people, past and present, who get our attention by what they write or say or share. For me C.S. Lewis is one of those. He was a prolific writer who continues to grab the attention of thinkers from many different points of view. Lewis first grabbed my attention when I was in 5 th grader, and our teacher, Mrs. Foy, shared The Chronicles of Narnia with our class. It was a powerful time that this dreamer opened doors to thinking like I had never lived before. He wrote of faith, of far off places and of strong figures who found their character rooted deep in God. C.S. Lewis was born in 1898 and died in 1963, 7 years before I was born. It wasn’t until his 30’s that under the influence of his friend Tolkien that he came to be a Christian.
