So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father's one and only Son.
For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
I've spent much time thinking about Christmas and how we celebrate this holiday. It is so important that we live what we believe. Give gifts that impact lives ... think more about others than you think of yourself ... make someone's Christmas brighter by sharing of what you have.
God still changes lives. Take a few minutes to think about this normal Christmas season verse with the twist that The Message gives it:
His ruling authority will grow, and there'll be no limits to the wholeness he brings. He'll rule from the historic David throne over that promised kingdom. He'll put that kingdom on a firm footing and keep it going With fair dealing and right living, beginning now and lasting always. The zeal of God-of-the-Angel-Armies will do all this.
