you are valuable

I am visiting the Los Angeles Dream Center this week as Keith Fulcher from The Community Fellowship will graduate from the Discipleship program.  The Thursday worship service is always a powerful time of music and message from God’s word.  Tonight was powerful as Kris Vallotton shared about the value that we have because of God.  I’d like to share a few of the thoughts I got from his message.

QUOTE: You cannot think bad about yourself without offending God. He is the artist and we are his creation.

We are children of God because He made us and because Jesus died for us.  The Bible tells us that we are made in the likeness of God.  Therefore, when we dislike ourselves or think or act wrongly about who we are, we are offending God.  He made us.  He loves us, and God doesn’t make things without giving them great value!

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.

QUOTE: You tell me how to treat you by the way your treat yourself. The kingdom in me becomes the kingdom around me.

How you take care of what you have teaches people how to treat what you have.  It is like never changing the oil in your car or never washing your car.  What seems insignificant tells others what we really value.  If we love ourselves, we can better love others.

So husbands ought also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself;

QUOTE: You don't become what you want to become. You become what you see at the watering hole of your imagination.

Imagination is a big deal.  I can hear the song that the purple dinosaur, Barney, sang about imagination.  What we imagine and what we spend time thinking about we become like.  What we put out time and effort into is what we value.

God places value in our lives at creation.  He gave us even more value by giving His son for our sins and issues.  God takes us further by loving us all the time and no matter what.

We are valuable.  By valuing ourselves we can help others see the value God placed in their lives.  You are valuable to God!!!
