you will be blessed

Community friends and family!!!

It is time for some more exciting times around The Community Fellowship, and I want to encourage you to see and be part of what God is doing.  Also you have a great opportunity to minister to people around you in the love of God.  Who can you serve this weekend?

On Saturday, October 19th we are having a Women's Retreat with special guest Sylvia Pearce from kentucky.  The cost is $15, and you can sign up by replying to this email.  You can also sign up at church this Sunday.  Scholarships are available.  All you need to do is ask.  Volunteers are also needed for this event.

This Saturday, October 5th at 10am is the wedding of Kristie Riggs and Matthew Perdue.  You are invited to celebrate with them.  It is taking place at our church.  Please come and encourage them.  We have seen God do incredible things in their lives.

The Saturday between those events, October 12th, is our 2nd Saturday FREE community meal and clothes closet.  Your help is needed in the clothes closet next week preparing for this day of outreach.  Listen for more details.

Don't forget that each Saturday evening is our weekly outreach of feeding hungry people.  Ministry leader Wayne Martin is looking for more team members.  See Wayne or Cathy this Sunday to become a part of the team.

Help us FEED PEOPLE!!!  With all the needs around us we have continued needs for more non perishable food.  Please consider making a donation of money or of food for this ministry.  Gifts and donations can be brought to the church any day we are open.

This Sunday is our 2nd week of our series called 7, and we will be discussing some events of history that happened in BIBLICAL sizes to get the attention of leaders and followers.  How is God working around our world today?  He is still changing lives.  Join us this Sunday at 10:10am as we worship together and set our attention on Him and serve in His name.  Invite someone to come to church with you.

See you soon and have a great end to your week!

With GOD as my guide,

Pastor Michael Harrison

wash feet, sharing hope

John 13:4-5,14 NLT  So he got up from the table, took off his robe, wrapped a towel around his waist, 5 and poured water into a basin. Then he began to wash the disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel he had around him… 14 And since I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other’s feet. Jesus set the example we follow.  He served.  He valued and gave value to others.  That is why we choose to serve. For 18 years our church has shared an outreach called back2school, and for 16 of those years we have chosen to give students brand new shoes and socks as well as washing their feet.  It is one of the most important parts of this event. Washing feet is a humbling experience where both the give and the receiver learn how to share some moments that might change their lives.  Jesus said we should do this.  See the verse above.  Follow His example, do what He did, and give far more than you will ever know....

Have you heard of EDITH BURNS?

Edith Burns was a wonderful Christian who lived in San Antonio, Texas . She was the patient of a doctor by the name of Will Phillips. Dr. Phillips was a gentle doctor who saw patients as people. His favorite patient was Edith Burns.  One morning he went to his office with a heavy heart and it was because of Edith Burns.  When he walked into that waiting room, there sat Edith with her big black Bible in her lap earnestly talking to a young mother sitting beside her.  Edith Burns had a habit of introducing herself in this way: "Hello, my name is Edith Burns.  Do you believe in Easter?" Then she would explain the meaning of Easter, and many times people would be saved.  Dr. Phillips walked into that office and there he saw the head nurse, Beverly. Beverly had first met Edith when she was taking her blood pressure. Edith began by saying,"My name is Edith Burns. Do you believe in Easter?"  Beverly said, "Why yes I do."  Edith said, "Well, what do you ...
