There
is a path before each person that seems right, but it ends in death.
It really is that simply.
To do good you don’t have to build a building or have a million dollars
or write a business plan. Just do
something that is good.
Help a person who can do nothing in return. That might even be the most good. Mother Teresa said, “If you cannot feed 100
people, feed 1.” Every body can do
something.
Take a few minutes to think about doing good or doing
something that is right. When you choose
to do what is right, you choose life.
You choose courage and encouragement.
You choose to be an example to someone who might be headed the wrong
direction.
Call them out not by beating them up but by being kind,
by doing what is right by doing something that might not be expected. In fact, plan to do what is right.
Have you noticed that the more you make positive choices
that the easier it is to make positive choices?
It starts with one. It starts
with one right choice. It starts with
one act of kindness. It starts with
doing good just once. Don’t make it
harder than it is.
Remember that old story about the guy and starfish?
One day someone saw a guy down at the beach with tons of
starfish all over the beach. The waves
were crashing in, but the guy was picking up one starfish at a time and throwing
it back in the ocean. The person looking
on said “you cannot save them all”, but the guy throwing the starfish back in
the ocean said “maybe not them all but I can save this one.”
Maybe I didn’t tell the story just right, but you get the
point.
One act of kindness, one time doing good, one right
choice might be the right choice that leads to more right choices that leads
you and someone else to God.
Do something good today!
