Trust
in the Lord with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.
Thinking about success and failure is something that many,
many people do. Especially those that
come to great success or who achieve fortunes or who leave huge marks on the
world as they chose to live their lives.
“Failures are finger posts on
the road to achievement.” - C.S. Lewis
These people are the notable such as Mother Teresa, Thomas
Edison, Tom Landry and countless others, but they are also the grandmother who
only a few people knew or the school teacher that stood in the same classroom
year after year or the printer at the back of the shop preparing to lay ink on
the page for another Bible or book that will impact many.
Failure teaches us that success is possible. In fact what has grabbed my mind the most
about this subject is this thought …
There would be no way to know what success is unless I had
experiences failure along the way!
Julie and I
just returned from spending time with our oldest daughter. The last week has been tremendously difficult
for her as life is beginning to change.
What stands out to me to how this young lady we have watched grow and
even watched deal with challenges is showing us how her faith is growing and
that she is willing to go through valleys so that she can climb the mountains.
I plead with
God for her success and for the success of all our children, and our family,
and the church. He is able to give it,
but it is our choice to live life or to let it pass us by. I choose success based on learning from my
failures.
