who is it?

I mean who are the people we sat next to, spent time with, would run in to, saw often but now they are gone.  They seem to have disappeared from anywhere we are.

Some people we choose not to be around.  Others just stop showing up.  Think about it for a few minutes.  People will come to mind.

As I drove yesterday from one appointment to another a family came through my mind that used to be some of the most faithful at our church.  We have talked a little, but over the last year I have missed them several times.

I bet there are people in your world who are the same.  Some of them have literally moved.  They got another house and changed schools.  Or maybe they transferred jobs.  For some they changed churches, or it could be that simply their schedule changed.

Who is it that you are missing?  Once you find who these people are, whether one or twenty, do something about it.  Here is what I suggest:

Pray for them.  This is the first way to really connect.  It might be that God gives you insight in to what you may can do next.

James 5:16  ESV
Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.

Reach out.  Send a text or an email or a Facebook note or make a call.  Showing you remember and care will go a long way.

Romans 1:12  ESV
that is, that we may be mutually encouraged by each other's faith, both yours and mine.

Show kindness.  You might even say “forgive me” for not contacting you sooner.  Bake a cake and take it by.  Send a card.

Ephesians 4:32  ESV
Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.

People matter.  In fact we were created for relationships, and we need others in our lives.  Some people make friends easily while others have a harder time.  But we need each other.  I am grateful for the people in my life, but I have come to find out that there are a few people I have been missing or who have fallen off my radar.

Philippians 2:3  ESV
Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.

Now.  Go connect with those people on your mind.
