being pursued by God

Cory Asbury’s song Reckless Lovehas some pieces that many people cannot get out of the head.  Better yet it might be that God has allowed those words and the truth it conveys to travel deep in to their hearts.

There's no shadow You won't light up
Mountain You won't climb up
Coming after me
There's no wall You won't kick down
Lie You won't tear down
Coming after me
There's no shadow You won't light up
Mountain You won't climb up
Coming after me
There's no wall You won't kick down
Lie You won't tear down
Coming after me

That part of the song talks about being pursued by God.  Go back to something you might have read years ago, as I did, in Henry Blackaby’s book Experiencing Godwhere he says that God is pursuing a love relationship with us. That is good stuff.

Understand this is not like being stalked.  That is the opposite.  Some people pursue others for all the wrong reasons.  God pursues us for all the right reasons.  It could be likened to a guy or girl pursuing the person that they love.  We live that kind of pursuit.  We like to be loved.

Take some time to look through what the song above says about our God. He pursues us, and there is nothing that will keep Him from reaching us, loving us and being part of our lives. That is other than us or personally choosing to stay away from God.

Romans 8:38 NLT
And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.

Nothing can keep God’s love from pursuing us.  Give in.  Let Him catch you.  By the way, wouldn’t it be awesome to sit back and watch the pursuit?  Better yet, begin to pursue the people you love like God pursues you.

Love like Jesus loves.  Share like Jesus shares.  A phrase comes to mind… unstoppable generosity of reckless love!  Enjoy the pursuit!
