One of the big pieces of Christmas is PEACE. We talk about it a lot because Jesus came to give us peace.
But peace is not just for the holiday season.
Around the world there is talk of peace when it comes to struggles between countries and war. Further, around us there are conversations of peace because of people who are struggling economically or physically. Peace is a great thing.
But real peace is not something that is fleeting. It doesn’t come in one minute and leave the next. Peace begins in our hearts or deep in us and flows over to every thing and all parts of our lives.
Psalm 119:165 NLT
Those who love your instructions have great peace and do not stumble.
Loving the things of God and loving God will give great peace. This is not one of those “if you keep my commandments” you will have peace. Even more, this isn’t “follow these 5 steps” and you will have peace. This is follow the one who cares and loves and shares with you, and peace will overflow in your life and in the lives of the people around you.
Isaiah 54:13 NLT
I will teach all your children, and they will enjoy great peace.
God will teach our children. Allow the children and yourself to be around people who inspire you. These could be teachers or coaches or neighbors or preachers. It could be many different people who give strength and peace.
Take some time today to push fear away and bring peace closer. When we encourage the people around us, we will have more peace. When we inspire the people around us, they will be and we will be better.
Daniel 10:19 NLT
“Don’t be afraid,” he said, “for you are very precious to God. Peace! Be encouraged! Be strong!” As he spoke these words to me, I suddenly felt stronger and said to him, “Please speak to me, my lord, for you have strengthened me.”
Peace is a big deal!
