Think about your funeral. Will people at your funeral know that you have prepared for that day? Most people, including Christians, are not living life like it is all about Jesus. We live like it is all about us.
If we were to unwrap the Christmas gift God has for us, we will not find ourselves inside the gift. Jesus is the gift, and He is what this season and life is all about.

We think about the shepherds and the wise men that went to visit Jesus. Their time with Jesus began with and ended with worship. Shouldn't our celebration be the same?
Matthew 2:11 nasb
After coming into the house they saw the Child with Mary His mother; and they fell to the ground and worshiped Him. Then, opening their treasures, they presented to Him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
The wise men worshipped, gave and were in awe of God.

The shepherds were overcome with everything. It made them worship.
