Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.
This week I have shared some of last Sunday’s message in our new series “pray”. Our challenge is to renew our relationship with God through prayer. That is the way we stay close and connected to the one who loves us the most.
For years I have used a very simply way to lead others to pray. It is called the Acts of Prayer. This guides us through four parts that will help us connect to God. The only piece that it misses is that we need to stop and listen when we pray.
Follow this guide and spend some time in prayer as you have been challenged to do.
ACTS of Prayer
A – adoration
C – confession
T – thanksgiving
S – supplication
Adoration is simply to adore. Tell God that you appreciate Him and adore Him.
Confession is agreeing with God about your sin. Be honest about yourself and situation.
Thanksgiving is to give thanks to Him and for Him.
Supplication is asking God to supply needs, yours and for others.
Spend some time praying. We have been asked to stop at 17 minutes passed the hour and pray. That time is because of the following verse. Go ahead and pray!
1 Thessalonians 5:17 NASB
pray without ceasing;
