Have you ever driven on a road where one side had a huge cliff or drop off that had you a bit scared? Maybe you have been driving and lost control of your car on ice or wet roads, and it scared you. The edge was becoming more and more of a reality.
Several years ago I was driving the speed limit and going down a local highway in our area, as our team was preparing for a week of ministry at the speedway. I was pulling a trailer when I hit a bump or something in the road. The trailer came off of the back of the truck and began to go past me in the truck. It went through the median of the road and then across the opposite lanes of traffic. It didn’t hit anything else but came to rest wedged next to the end of a guardrail. There was a little damage to the trailer and a little more damage to the truck. But it was a scary moment to say the east. It was the edge.
When I was very young, my dad and I were headed to Colorado to visit my grandparents. It was spring break, and the weather in western Oklahoma and most of Colorado was still snow, ice and winter. On an elevated highway in the panhandle of Oklahoma my dad lost control of the car, and it began to spin. I was laying in the backseat asleep. All I remember was the car spinning and my dad gaining control of the car. It was scary.
There are many situations in life that leave us on the edge and scared. Those are the times when we have to trust God. The edge might be scary and difficult, but it is the place where we get closer to God and live by faith.
Romans 12:12 NLT

Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy.
Opportunities for faith and courage come into our lives often. We miss them when we are not seeking God. We may still have trouble, yet the best that God has for us might be right around the corner and hiding behind your biggest challenge, your worst fear or the edge that you are trying to stay away from.
Faith is the key to seizing those opportunities. Fear is shoved out of the way when faith takes its place. Allow God to use you, deal with you and give you courage when you come near the edges of life.
Hebrews 11:6 NLT
And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.
