Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him.
It doesn’t take much for me to realize how blessed our family really is. That doesn’t mean we are better or different than others. It just means we recognize that God has been so good to us.
Our kids have grown up. We are so proud of all three of them. They are smart and strong and gaining ground every way. They are a gift to Julie and me.
We don’t always agree. In fact we have taught our kids to stand strong and to think. They have done that well and learned much.
Proverbs 22:6 NASB
Train up a child in the way he should go, Even when he is old he will not depart from it.
I am under a command to train our children every chance I get. Not always easy but it is always right.
Last night we spent a good deal of time with our youngest having a pretty deep conversation about our nation, politics, the Bible and more. He is articulate and strong. And this chemistry class he is doing great in would have kicked me to the curb weeks ago.
Now, we move on to next week at this time. All the family will be in town as we celebrate our middle child’s wedding. This will be so sweet. Yes, I will most likely cry (a lot). This process of planning and being ready has reminded us how blessed we are as they plan well and are set to be successful in life.
I don’t want to leave our oldest child out. We miss her as she lives a way off. She is doing so well with lots of opportunity ahead. Although she is an accountant, tax season is consuming her days. She is so smart and missed at home.
Like I said, they will all be home next week for the wedding. We are excited, but we also know that we are to share all we can as often as we can to make as much of an impact as we can.

And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. 7 Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up. 8 Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders. 9 Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.
