Dear community family and friends
I trust you guys are doing well and pushing through this week. Sunday was a very special day for us as we celebrated Easter and had our first Drive-In service. All who attended were such a blessing, and it was good to see many of our church family that I have missed.
We will be doing another Drive-In service on Sunday, April 26th and plan to have one every other week until the "stay-at-home" order is removed by the governor. Remember that we are on Facebook Live each Sunday at www.facebook.com/tcf1010 at our normal time. Yet this week we are adding a new facet to our ministry. We have the ability to broadcast our church service via FM radio transmitter. The signal goes out more than a mile from the church in every direction. If you would like to come to the church parking lot for the service, you are welcome to do so. You will be greeted, a wave and a hello from a distance, and have the opportunity to give if you want. We will announce the radio station to tune in to later.
Many of you have received your stimulus payment from the government. That is a blessing, but I do want to remind you that we must be faithful. Many churches are struggling without having regular giving due to not having services. Please continue to give. You can do so by going online at www.thecommunityfellowship.org and click give online. You can also mail your offering to PO Box 388, Collinsville VA 24078 or drop it off to the church during the week as we are open from 9 until 2 Monday through Thursday. Thank you for giving.
Our feeding ministry continues! The hot meals are still offered on Saturday evenings at 5pm at the Martinsville Hotel. Our emergency food pantry is open when the church is open during the week. We continue to partner with others throughout our community to give away food boxes to those in need. This happens each Monday from 9am until 2pm at the church in Collinsville, Salvation Army, Grace Network, Rich Acres Christian Church and Henry County Food Pantry in Bassett. It is an honor to partner with others. We are helping many people. Families can get one food box per month, and if you or others need food at other times, please come by the church for a bag of food. We are grateful for the tremendous donations we have been given this week.
I miss seeing you all. This Sunday we will continue our study in the book of James and the 2nd chapter. Join me online via Facebook Live for our service, worship and the word at 10:10am. Also join me each evening at 5:30pm for a Bible study. I forgot to mention that our Addiction Ministry is on Facebook Live each Saturday at 6pm.
