The people around the Christmas story all have their own story. They encountering the living Christ in a real way. Each experience brought to life, for them and for us, the reason that Jesus came to earth.
Christmas is the season we celebrate the birth of Christ, but it is really the birth of of our opportunity for life and hope and so much more. Take some time to look for yourself at the story. Which of the character in the story stands out? Which character is most like you?
Let’s take a short trip today, at the start of this Christmas season, to see the weight and reason of the birth.
John 1:14 NLT
So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son.
Isaiah 9:6 NLT
For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
The glory of God in a person. The word became a person. The weight of the world on this person as the gift of God to a world needing hope.
This is the first person we discover over this season. The child sent from God. The truth embodied in the person of God. Those two verses speak volumes, or sermons if you would.
Our savior is the gift from God and God all in one. Let’s celebrate Christmas.
