pray for Cuba

Psalm 82:3-4  NLT

Give justice to the poor and the orphan; uphold the rights of the oppressed and the destitute. 4 Rescue the poor and helpless; deliver them from the grasp of evil people.

You might be keeping up with things that are going on around the world.  Pray for the peace of Israel and the middle east.  Pray for the nation of Cuba and the unrest and desperate economic situation.

My heart is in Cuba and has been in 2019 when I took my first mission trip.  So many people have left a mark on my heart and life.  Friends and ministry partners who are sharing the Gospel in their country.  I am so grateful for God leading me there these 6 and half years.

But the situation is grave.  So pray.  As the verses above say.  Pray for the poor, the oppressed, pray for rescue of the helpless and the release from evil or difficult people.

Cuba gets worse daily with the need for food, fuel, electricity and hope.  The United States government continues to push change in their country, and I do believe that God will provide change that will lead to the people of this island nation.  Change not just to have what they need but so they will know God and have His hope.

Very simple, don’t stop praying.  Thank you for joining me in this important and life changing prayer.  As Matthew West says in his song, “Don’t Stop Praying”.

What’s your impossible , Your “I need a miracle”
What’s got you barely hanging by a single thread
What looks so hopeless now
What weighs down your heart with doubt
You beg for a breakthrough but no sign of breakthrough yet

When you’ve cried and you’ve cried til your tears run dry
The answer won’t come and you don’t know why
And you wonder if you can bow your head even one more time …

He’s close to the brokenhearted
Saves those who are crushed in spirit
The Alpha and Omega knows how your story ends …

And don’t stop praying, Don’t stop calling on Jesus name
Keep on pounding on heaven’s door
Let your knees wear out the floor
Don’t stop believing
‘Cause mountains move with just a little faith
And your Father’s heard every single word you’re saying
So, don’t stop praying

Have you heard of EDITH BURNS?

Edith Burns was a wonderful Christian who lived in San Antonio, Texas . She was the patient of a doctor by the name of Will Phillips. Dr. Phillips was a gentle doctor who saw patients as people. His favorite patient was Edith Burns.  One morning he went to his office with a heavy heart and it was because of Edith Burns.  When he walked into that waiting room, there sat Edith with her big black Bible in her lap earnestly talking to a young mother sitting beside her.  Edith Burns had a habit of introducing herself in this way: "Hello, my name is Edith Burns.  Do you believe in Easter?" Then she would explain the meaning of Easter, and many times people would be saved.  Dr. Phillips walked into that office and there he saw the head nurse, Beverly. Beverly had first met Edith when she was taking her blood pressure. Edith began by saying,"My name is Edith Burns. Do you believe in Easter?"  Beverly said, "Why yes I do."  Edith said, "Well, what do you ...

wash feet, sharing hope

John 13:4-5,14 NLT  So he got up from the table, took off his robe, wrapped a towel around his waist, 5 and poured water into a basin. Then he began to wash the disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel he had around him… 14 And since I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other’s feet. Jesus set the example we follow.  He served.  He valued and gave value to others.  That is why we choose to serve. For 18 years our church has shared an outreach called back2school, and for 16 of those years we have chosen to give students brand new shoes and socks as well as washing their feet.  It is one of the most important parts of this event. Washing feet is a humbling experience where both the give and the receiver learn how to share some moments that might change their lives.  Jesus said we should do this.  See the verse above.  Follow His example, do what He did, and give far more than you will ever know....
