Do not be afraid of sudden fear Nor of the
onslaught of the wicked when it comes;
We all woke up Monday morning to the news of another
horrible event in our country. This time
it was in Las Vegas, the city that never sleeps and always has a party or 10
parties going on.
What a sad day for everyone touched by this tragedy. Last I have heard there were 59 people who
have died and more than 525 who are still living but injured. All of this came from who appears to be a
single gunman who wrecked an event. No, this
mass murder not touches hundreds and thousands of lives.
Today I do not make a political statement. I simply report that people need hope. Our nation needs hope. Hurting and heart broken people need to hear
and see lived out that there is a reason to go on.
The way you and I deal with fear and with faith speaks
volumes about the way we respond to such happens. We are told (see the verse above) that we
should not allow fear to shape or shock our lives.
More things will happen around us. Recently we have had storms hit Texas,
Florida, Puerto Rico and beyond hurting many, many people who lost their lives
and who lost property of all types.
Every one of these events reminds us that we need the
hope that God gives. Lean on God. Show others how they can and must trust God
when the storms come or when the guns go off.
Psalm 34:22
NLT
But the LORD will redeem those who serve him.
No one who takes refuge in him will be condemned.
Pray for and share peace.
All who trust God will find help and safety in Him!
