Don’t just pretend to love others.
Really love them. Hate what
is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good.
That verse often enters my mind again. It reminds me of why we are connected to
Him. It reminds me that the people
around me are important. It reminds me
that life is not meant to be on cruise control or just getting by.
The following statement is from our men’s Bible study
reading today:
“So, you can chase after joy, and pray that the Spirit will
fill you up with His full measure of it and remind you of all that you have
been saved from, BUT, if is it not based on an overwhelming love for the Lord
and sacrificial love for others, it is just a fabricated happiness that will
fade the next time someone or some circumstance annoys you.”
That statement made me stop and think again. Let’s not let the circumstances of life keep
us from loving God and loving the people around us.
In fact lets make sure and ask God to make our love for Him
influence our love for others and our passion to live life with purpose!
Matthew 22:37-40 NLT
Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This
is the first and greatest commandment. A
second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ The
entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two
commandments.”
