There are many quotes that I have heard through the years that have stuck in my mind. Many of those have made me stop and think. Some even made me make some drastic changes.
Bible verses have had and continue to have the same impact on me. I have shared many of those with you in the past here through e-devotions. Let me take a little different path.
Here are some quotes from presidents of our nation who have talked about their faith. Just wanted to draw attention to a few of these.
“If we ever forget that we are one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under.” Ronald Reagan
“We asked for God’s help; and now, in this shining outcome, in this magnificent triumph of good over evil, we should thank God.” George H. W. Bush
“It is impossible to rightly govern a nation without God and the Bible.” George Washington
"A thorough knowledge of the Bible is worth more than a college education." Theodore Roosevelt
“I can see how it might be possible for a man to look down upon the earth and be an atheist, but I cannot conceive how a man could look up into the heavens and say there is no God.” Abraham Lincoln
“Hold fast to the Bible. To the influence of this Book we are indebted for all the progress made in true civilization and to this we must look as our guide in the future.” Ulysses S. Grant
“Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.” Theodore Roosevelt
“Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, leave the rest to God.” Ronald Reagan
That is just a few quotes from men who gave their lives in service to our nation. They thought about faith as we should. Speak up as they did. Share your convictions as all need to.
Colossians 2:7 NLT
Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.
