Dear Community family
Hello and I trust you are all moving forward and well. I have prayed for you as well as have missed you a great deal. These are tough times and continue to be uncertain as to when things will change.
This Sunday is MOTHER'S DAY, and we will be having a "Drive-In" service at 10:10am in the parking lot where everyone is encouraged to stay in your vehicle. Our worship team will lead us, and I will bring a message from the Bible. I do hope you can attend and will invite others to be with us. Ladies will receive a gift during the service. I also ask for you to be prepared to give your tithes and offerings since we have not been able to meet in person since mid March.
We will be on FACEBOOK LIVE again Sunday morning at 10:10am as we are each Sunday, and our addiction ministry service will be on FACEBOOK LIVE at 6pm Saturday. Those services are archived there for you to watch later, too.
Also, this Sunday at 2pm we will begin ta have a special ZOOM call for our students, Preschool through 5th grade. Everyone is welcome to join in. There will be an invitation on the kid's Facebook page as well on the church page. Please help us get the word out. Our youth have their ZOOM call each Wednesday at 6pm led by Adrienne Hubbard. Contact her for more information.
Our online giving option is still open for anyone to use. Simply go to www.thecommunityfellowship.org and click give online. You can also mail your tithes and offerings to the church address, PO Box 388 Collinsville, VA 24078 or drop your offering at the church during the week when we are open.
My heart is heavy for many people who have been going through so much during the COVID-19 pandemic. Pray for each other. Pray for those who have lost loved ones, those who have been battling sickness, those who continue to deal with addiction and mental health. There are many people who are hungry that we have continued to feed, and we will be giving out FOOD BOXES on Monday from 9am until 2pm as well as have our emergency food pantry through the week. There is always a way for us to serve others. Share God's love every chance you get.
Please pray for the completion of our new campus. We have been seeking the funds and assistance to make this happen, and it is our hope to have several workdays at the new campus over the next few months. These can happen with social distancing in place. In fact this Saturday morning there are a few people gathering to work. Feel free to contact me if you would like to help.
I do want to address the question about when we will re-open the church and meet in person. We will not know when this will happen until after the governor announces the plan for Virginia. When we are able to announce the date we will begin meeting in person, please be aware that we will be doing things a little different. First, we will be making sure that social distancing is in place. This means that there will be limited space as far as the number of people who can be in the building. Second, we will be making sure that the building will be cleaned before and after each time we are together. Third, children's worship and childcare will begin several weeks after re-opening, and we are grateful for your understanding and patience with this. Fourth, when these service start, we will be having greeters at the doors and possibly in the parking lot who will assist you from your car to your seats. We will be asking families to sit together and for there to be plenty of room for social distancing. I do hope that makes sense, but please know that we are still learning, praying and seeking to do our best to keep each of us safe and to serve each person. If when we announce the re-opening of church you do not feel safe yet attending in person, our online services will continue, and I trust you will join us there.
That is enough for now. Please know that I love each of you and miss you a great deal. Let me and our church leaders know how we can pray for or serve you and your family. I hope to see each of you this Sunday for Drive In church! Have a great end of the week, and remember to demonstrate the love of God to our community with every opportunity that you get.
With GOD as my guide,
Pastor Michael Harrison
