One of the most important things we can be is an influence. Every one of us has influence but is that influence good or bad?
Think about it. Read on. These verses are eye opening.
2 Peter 1:5-9 NLT
In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God’s promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge, 6 and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness, 7 and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love for everyone. 8 The more you grow like this, the more productive and useful you will be in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 But those who fail to develop in this way are shortsighted or blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their old sins.
God’s promises help us respond differently. His promises allow our lives to be influenced by Him so we influence others in the best way possible.
God is building character and influence in to each of our lives. Put in your life character that counts. Be an influencer for Christ and take up His call on your life.
Philippians 4:8-9 NLT
And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. 9 Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.
I choose to influence the people around me for God. I want people to be better and stronger after they have been with me. That is not because I am better than anyone but because God is good.
Will you leave people encouraged or discouraged, better or worse, stronger or weaker. Leave a positive mark on the people around you!
