we need real insight

The commandments of the Lord are right, bringing joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are clear, giving insight for living.

Psalm 49:3  NLT
For my words are wise, and my thoughts are filled with insight.

There are some places that you just should stay away from.  It is like an addict that knows going there or being with those people will make things even harder.  We need to take to heart the insight we are given.

“Insight” is two words combined in to one word.  It takes the ability to see or seeing well and places it in the context of seeing what is bigger or behind or under.  To have insight is to understand more and to be wise.  God is the beginning of real insight, and that is what we need.

The verses I began with today give us a place to start.  God’s truth, whether law or poem or love, are laced with insight giving us the ability to have a better life.  His words give life, give insight and are laced with wisdom.

Are we seeking wisdom or pleasure?  Check out that with the insight you have right now.

Proverbs 1:4  NLT
These proverbs will give insight to the simple, knowledge and discernment to the young.

I hold tight to what we have said about the book of Proverbs.  You remember… 31 chapters and 31 days in most months.  Read one per day.  You will leave Proverbs with more wisdom and with great insight.

That is a promise from God.  Seek Him and receive insight.

Ephesians 3:4  NLT
As you read what I have written, you will understand my insight into this plan regarding Christ.

Go a little further.  Like all the way to the New Testament.  What Jesus said came from God.  What he did was directed by God the Father.  His teaching brought wisdom and insight to those who often lacked the ability to see.

The opposite of insight is to be short sighted.  I pray we will stop being short sighted and long for the wisdom God offers.  Cry out for wisdom.  Listen in and gain the insight that God offers.  Now live, really live with understanding…

Proverbs 2:3  NLT
Cry out for insight, and ask for understanding.
