Who
are we going to be believe? We can
listen to our past mistakes or the people who want to rob from us, or we can
listen to the one who made us and the people who love us.
Labels have been put on us
through all of our lives. We have the
power to make some labels stick and to let go of others. One of the most important pieces is to
realize the damaging results of believing the wrong labels. Each us have
believed labels that we’ve been given by others and some we have given
ourselves. It is time to let go of some
and hold on to others.
Labels carry something power to take us in the right direction
or in the wrong direction. Believing lies is a huge problem. Believing
truth takes us in the right direction, and truth allows us to grow
stronger.
What God says about us is truth. When you know
God and are saved, there are new labels that are true about you.
I am…
a new creature (2
Cor. 5:17; Eph. 2:10)
a saint (1 Cor. 1:2)
a part of His Church
(Eph. 2:21-22)
a temple for God's
Spirit (Eph. 2:22)
in God’s eternal
plan (Eph. 1:4; 2 Tim. 1:9)
rich (1 Cor. 1:5)
accepted by God (Eph.
1:6)
light (Eph. 5:8)
secure and loved by
God (Rom. 8:38-39)
near to the heart of
God (Eph. 2:13)
That is just a few of the things we can find in the Bible
that are true about those who know Jesus. Do you believe those
things? Go to the next level. Remove the wrong LABELS and
put in places the right LABELS.
Ephesians
1:4-7 NLT
Even before he made
the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in
his eyes. God decided
in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through
Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure. So we praise God for the
glorious grace he has poured out on us who belong to his dear Son. He is so rich in kindness
and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave
our sins.
