remember Dr. King and more

  We all need to remember.  But those memories cannot be the handcuffs that lock us up.  Let them be the keys that free us to life and abundant life. Take for example, from yesterday’s sermon, what Joshua was led by God to do for the people.  Joshua took the place of Moses who was known by all, had shown the people how to follow God and how to see as well as enjoy the present of God.  Directly Joshua heard “be strong and courageous”.  The only way to be that would be to in the word of God and know that God is with you. Joshua 1:9  NLT This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. what label do you believe?

Who are we going to be believe?   We can listen to our past mistakes or the people who want to rob from us, or we can listen to the one who made us and the people who love us. Labels have been put on us through all of our lives.   We have the power to make some labels stick and to let go of others.   One of the most important pieces is to realize the damaging results of believing the wrong labels.   Each us have believed labels that we’ve been given by others and some we have given ourselves.   It is time to let go of some and hold on to others. Labels carry something power to take us in the right direction or in the wrong direction.  Believing lies is a huge problem.  Believing truth takes us in the right direction, and truth allows us to grow stronger.   What God says about us is truth.  When you know God and are saved, there are new labels that are true about you.
