Honor the Lord from your wealth And from the first of all your
produce;
Yes, this is twice in one week that these posts have
talked about giving, and the reason why I choose to challenge you is that I
believe it is time for God’s people to do what God calls each of us to do. Giving is a big deal. It speaks to our heart and what holds our
hearts.
Many people in churches are tippers and not big
ones. This person pulls out a couple
bills from their purse or wallet when the plate comes by at church.
Some people in churches give leftovers. If anything is leftover at the end of the
month, they might give, but when there is nothing left there is nothing given.
Yet in all churches there are a few faithful and generous
people. These are the people that
understand that everything is a gift from God.
We are stewards of His blessings in our lives. This is more than money. It includes our time and even God given
abilities. Often generous people
encourage others to be generous.
Romans 12:8

If your gift is to encourage others, be
encouraging. If it is giving, give generously.
If God has given you leadership ability, take the
responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to
others, do it gladly.
Use your gifts.
Give of what you have. I love to
hear the stories of people who have tested God with their giving. They talk about the overflowing of God’s
blessings and of His grace. To hear
people talk about their joy and gratitude for salvation and how their giving
made it possible for others to be ministered to and hear God’s truth.
Malachi 3:10

Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so
there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do,” says the Lord
of Heaven’s Armies, “I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will
pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in! Try
it! Put me to the test!
