Some day you will read in the
papers that D. L. Moody, of East Northfield, is dead. Don’t you believe a word
of it! At that moment I shall be more alive than I am now.
That is actually a quote from D.L. Moody’s autobiography that
has been shared many times in relation to Billy Graham and his recent
death. The truth behind that statement
is clear for Pastor Moody, Dr. Graham and even for me.
I believe with all my heart and with all the faith I have
that Salvation is a free gift from God that seals for eternity our life in
heaven. When I die, or when anyone who
is a Christian dies, heaven is our eternal promise and eternal home. That is comforting and true based on what the
Bible says.
It was several weeks ago that Billy Graham took his last
breath on earth and transitioned to heaven.
His life and work influenced almost every one of us. Through the years you may remember seeing him
on TV or even there being a crusade near your town. The fact is that the message Dr. Graham
preached was simple. It was one of faith
completely and unapologetically all about God.
Our life is going to be short. That is compared to eternity. We may live 99 years, as Billy Graham did, or
50 years, more or less. The fact is
everyone will die. We need to understand
that eternity is a fact, and our loving and giving God has paved the way for
that life and for help until we get there.

This is the simple truth and the foundation of all that
Christian faith is built on. God loves
us. God gave us His son. He is the way. Heaven is real for those who have placed
their faith in God!
