The Community’s 2023 theme is THERE IS MORE TO COME. Now I continue to encourage us to START the new year in a great way. The phrases from START are these … SERVE. TITHE. ADORE GOD. READ SCRIPTURE. TALK TO GOD.
Today I point you to ADORE GOD. That really means to worship Him. Spend time making much of the most important person in our faith. That is not you. Plus and I remind each of us that it is not about you. It is not about me. Therefore, worship God. Choose to adore Him.
Psalm 95:6 NLT
Come, let us worship and bow down. Let us kneel before the Lord our maker,
Choose to worship. Does that make a difference in how you deal with life, your struggles and even your relationships? Yes! It really does make a difference in every area of life.
To worship is to give significance and value to something or someone. When we choose to worship God, we give Him the greatest value that we have in our lives.
Take another step back and examine how you worship and who you worship. We might need to ask an even stronger question. That would be how often do we worship.
Far too many people who choose to follow God only worship sporadically. Like just worshipping on Sunday or maybe a couple times a week. It might even be a couple times a month. I am not questioning your loyalty to God. But when we separate ourselves from church and other Christians, we have a hard time choosing to worship.
Is that true for you? Many people have quit coming to church during the covid situation. Some have not returned. Some do worship where they are, but many have disconnected from their faith as well from the church.
Change the value of yourself. Change the direction of your new year. Change the ability to find success and to lead others in a fresh and great way. Do that by choosing to worship God, adore God.
John 4:24 NLT
For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.

Here’s the story I’ll tell my friends when they come to worship, and punctuate it with Hallelujahs: Shout Hallelujah, you God-worshipers; give glory, you sons of Jacob; adore him, you daughters of Israel. He has never let you down, never looked the other way when you were being kicked around. He has never wandered off to do his own thing; he has been right there, listening.
START with adoring God. Set yourself to worship only God. He is who we need. He is who has given all for us. He continues to give. Choose to worship. It will make a difference in your life and in the lives of the people around you.
Do you want to have a great new year? Choose to experience and help others experience the goodness of God. Worship is one aspect of life that sets our direction and our success. Do what will make a great new year a reality for you and for others.
