Having some inner thoughts lately about the purpose of my life, the way I lead our church, and the reason that I am involved in work throughout our community. It is my desire to help others, churches and organizations as well as individuals, to make a difference in the community around us.
“Demonstrate the love of God to our community” – our church purpose statement
“The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.” ― Ralph Waldo Emerson
“You have not lived today until you have done something for someone who can never repay you.” ― John Bunyan
“If you're not making someone else's life better, then you're wasting your time. Your life will become better by making other lives better.” ― Will Smith
“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” - Helen Keller
“Faithful servants never retire. You can retire from your career, but you will never retire from serving God.” - Rick Warren
Luke 22:26 NLT
But among you it will be different. Those who are the greatest among you should take the lowest rank, and the leader should be like a servant.
There are just a few quotes to get our minds going. If you want to serve more, start serving someone near you. I think Bob Goff said it people in his book Love Does … you don’t need a plan, just start.
