For the last 68 years our president has declared a day in spring as the National Day of Prayer. There are so many things that come to mind. I ask that you spend some time today praying for the world, our country, the state and the community around us.
Psalm 33:12 NASB
Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, The people whom He has chosen for His own inheritance.
Any country or community that focuses on God will see His blessing and have His protection. We have had that in our country, and we need it continually. Seek the Lord. There is more to being a Godly nation that having “in God we trust” on our money.
2 Chronicles 7:14 NASB
and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
God made it very clear that we can have His blessings and love and His healing as we seek Him and turn from our wrong ways.
Now it is time to pray. Here is a guide of what or how to pray:
Pray for the Seven Centers of Influence on the National Day of Prayer
GOVERNMENT (federal, state and local). Pray for leaders and wisdom, for Spiritual awakening.
MILITARY (courageous and wise leaders, God’s protection, dependence on God). Pray for protection and for God to use these special people.
MEDIA ARTS (communicating truth, sharing inspiring stories, respecting others). Pray for those working in the media, for the use of social media and for God to use these.
BUSINESS (leading with integrity, create blessed economy, helping in communities). Pray for business leaders across our country to be blessed and to bless others, and for God to use those who seek Him.
EDUCATION (value truth, expect excellence, prepare students to win). Pray for administrators, teachers and those who impact the lives of students, and pray for protection and a move of God among students.
CHURCH (Christ-centered and Biblically based, Holy Spirit empowered, Great Commission driven). Pray for revival. Pray for wisdom as churches re-open and serve communities. Pray for lives to be changed by God.
FAMILY (follow the Bible, practice forgiveness, love one another). Pray for families to get through the current situation successfully and for blessings from God for what is needed.
