1 Peter 2:9 NASB
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
You and I have been called out of darkness and in to light. That is no small task. It is also not something we need to overlook.
Have you been in places where it seemed really dark? It might be that night where you are outside or driving, and there seems to be no light or no moon or just simply overwhelmingly dark. These nights seems few and far between, but we have had them from time to time.
Again, we have been called out of darkness. So, why do we stay in darkness? Why do we choose what gives us deeper problems and leads to less understanding? It happens. It happens because we have an enemy that wants to keep us in darkness.
You have been called to light. You and I have been called out of the dark. God gives light. God ends darkness, spiritual darkness. Make your choice to walk in your calling or in what you have been called to.
I love the thought and place of light. To see the light of day, early in the morning or maybe late at night, peeking through the trees or over the hills is simply amazing. Sitting by the quiet waters as the light enters or escapes is amazing to see. It often is breath taking.
Years ago I remember visiting my grandparents in the middle of spring. I was tasked as a young person to shovel the snow off of their deck behind their house. The sun was full in the sky, and the snow seemed some what like a magnifying glass making the light bounce off much brighter than usual.
God uses and causes light. Spend time in the light, and watch to see how God works.
