we are blessed

There are times that we have to change our definition of what being blessed means.  The problem is our definition, in human terms, is formed often by what we feel or believe.  God’s desire is for us to take His divine definition that comes by faith and not by feeling that we are blessed.

The fact is we are blessed.  It is not a feeling or something attain on our own.  These are God’s blessings on our lives.  Blessings may be seen in the form of money or relationships or happenings.  Blessings come because of what God has already done.  Listen up.  You are blessed.

All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ.

You have been blessed with every spiritual blessing.  That is a big deal.  God has been so good to us.  Do you know Him?  You are forgiven.  You’ve been made right with God.  You are blessed with an inheritance and promise of eternity.  You are new.  You are a child of God.  Those are realities.  It is time to live in the real realities that God has set in place.

God’s desire is for our connection to Him and for our blessing.  He is a good God.  He is the only God.  He is our God.

They will be my people, and I will be their God.

He is our God.  Nothing and no one can change that fact.  Even when we don’t feel like His or when we think God is not fir us, it is time to realize that God asks us to believe what He says and not what we feel.  Our situations or sickness or pain keep us from believing what God says about our blessings.

That is another reason to allow God to influence our thinking and what gets to our hearts.

He who gives attention to the word will find good, And blessed is he who trusts in the Lord.

And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.

His peace is ours as we apply God and His truth to our lives.  Blessings are a reality when we think God thoughts and allow His peace to cover the pain, the struggles and the questions that so many of us have.  Maybe we need our thinking adjusted.

How blessed is the man who finds wisdom And the man who gains understanding.

His wisdom and true understanding changes so many things for us.  Actually the “fear of God” will change and rearrange and finally transform our lives.  What we call truth, what we hold tightly to great influences what we believe!

We are blessed because of what God has done for us.  This truth applied makes each day better and makes us stronger.  Make today the best it can be by living like the blessed person you are.

Have you heard of EDITH BURNS?

Edith Burns was a wonderful Christian who lived in San Antonio, Texas . She was the patient of a doctor by the name of Will Phillips. Dr. Phillips was a gentle doctor who saw patients as people. His favorite patient was Edith Burns.  One morning he went to his office with a heavy heart and it was because of Edith Burns.  When he walked into that waiting room, there sat Edith with her big black Bible in her lap earnestly talking to a young mother sitting beside her.  Edith Burns had a habit of introducing herself in this way: "Hello, my name is Edith Burns.  Do you believe in Easter?" Then she would explain the meaning of Easter, and many times people would be saved.  Dr. Phillips walked into that office and there he saw the head nurse, Beverly. Beverly had first met Edith when she was taking her blood pressure. Edith began by saying,"My name is Edith Burns. Do you believe in Easter?"  Beverly said, "Why yes I do."  Edith said, "Well, what do you ...

wash feet, sharing hope

John 13:4-5,14 NLT  So he got up from the table, took off his robe, wrapped a towel around his waist, 5 and poured water into a basin. Then he began to wash the disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel he had around him… 14 And since I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other’s feet. Jesus set the example we follow.  He served.  He valued and gave value to others.  That is why we choose to serve. For 18 years our church has shared an outreach called back2school, and for 16 of those years we have chosen to give students brand new shoes and socks as well as washing their feet.  It is one of the most important parts of this event. Washing feet is a humbling experience where both the give and the receiver learn how to share some moments that might change their lives.  Jesus said we should do this.  See the verse above.  Follow His example, do what He did, and give far more than you will ever know....
