stand firm in the Lord

Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong.

There is more to standing firm than being strong.  In fact some of the strongest people have the biggest weaknesses.  Further, it is often the people that think they are strong and invisible that fall or fail in times of great struggles.

The verse above speaks of courage and strength.  It talks about being on guard so your faith stands firm.  That is why faith, spiritual health, is vitally important to our lives and to our standing firm.

We have someone else, God Himself, to stand with us and for us.  That is when we are the strongest possible.

Luke 21:19  NLT
By standing firm, you will win your souls.

Standing firm leads to more people standing firm.

Ephesians 6:13  NLT
Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.

The ability to stand firm is directly related to who and what we trust.  The enemy desires to steal from you and from me.  Yet we find ourselves in harms ways because we miss what will keep us strong.  Put on His armor.

1 Thessalonians 3:8  NLT
It gives us new life to know that you are standing firm in the Lord.

We aren’t saved to stand-alone or to just go to heaven.  It is amazing to notice the people who choose faith because we choose faith.  Something big happens in me when I see that I have made a difference in the lives of others.

2 Peter 1:12  NLT
Therefore, I will always remind you about these things—even though you already know them and are standing firm in the truth you have been taught.

Hang on to what you have learned and stand firm.  Hold tight to the truth of God and stand firm.  Let your courage and strength shine because you stand firm in the Lord.
