The following is a post from July of 2013 about seeking God, and it
remains true today. Read on:
I am a shopper. Maybe that surprises you, but that is a true
statement. My wife is more of the kind of person that knows what she is
looking for it and gets it quickly. For me I would rather look through
stores, watch people and looks for deals. Often I have nothing that I
have really looking for.
Lots of people do that in life. Rather than having a plan or
setting goals they simply take each day as it comes and struggle with anything
too far in to the future. I believe that we need to know what we are
seeking in life and go after it. We ought to set some goals and point our
pursuit to success. That is not easy, but it can be done as we find our
passion or what really drives us in life.
God has some words for us about what we seek. I would like to
share a few verses with us and ask that we let God fill our thoughts and even
our pursuit with Him. Only Him.
Matthew 6:33 NLT
Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he
will give you everything you need.
John 6:27 NLT
But don’t be so concerned about perishable things like food. Spend
your energy seeking the eternal life that the Son of Man can give you.
For God the Father has given me the seal of his approval
2 Chronicles 15:12 NLT
Then they entered into a covenant to seek the Lord, the God of their
ancestors, with all their heart and soul.
Luke 11:10 NLT
For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds.
And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.
1 Chronicles 16:11 NLT
Search for the Lord and for his strength; continually seek him.
Isaiah 55:6 NLT
Seek the Lord while you can find him. Call on him now while he is
near.
Jeremiah 29:13 NASB
You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.
May we be known for what we seek for and be known as people who seek
God. When we seek God, we will find Him, and God will blow our minds
because we are living by faith!
