For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it.
Yesterday we continued our series GRAVITY examining the concepts that are vital to the life of the Christian and to the church. Gravity is the force that attracts anything that has mass to the earth. It is the pull that draws something to the ground. The larger the mass, the greater the force is that pulls it. Gravity is also defined as having great or extreme importance.
Have we accepted what God has given us? One of those things we are examining is the GOSPEL that is one single most important part of our faith. This is a very simple truth that has gotten twisted and deluded through the years.
Jesus is the son of God sent to the world to deal will our sin by the grace of God. He lived on earth as fully man and fully God after being born of a virgin, making him uniquely perfect. He was killed by being placed on a cross. Three days later Jesus rose from the dead. Now he is in heaven because His work of salvation is complete.
That is the gospel. That is the most important of all the pieces of what God has given us. Without the Gospel we would not have the salvation that we talked about this week.
We are uniquely placed together, God’s people making up God’s church, and without people there is no need for the Gospel. And God loves people. He has placed us together and His church in the world so that the Gospel will be shared, lives will be changed and that the church will be strong.
The Gospel must be at the center. Without it we miss our reason for existing, we lose our power, and we are empty of our God given purpose and useless.
That’s just not the case. I believe and lead our church and work to be about the truth that God changes lives through the power of the Gospel. Live it out.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
