One of the most important and most powerful things we do is to choose our attitude. In fact our choices or decisions actually determine our destiny. Who we choose to follow will take us further than we truly understand.
That is why it is vitally important to make wise choices as well as to use our time wisely. I have many times encouraged married couples to make decisions of how they will respond before situations arrive. The same ought to be true about our faith and how we deal with what happens in our lives.
Joshua 24:24 NLT
The people said to Joshua, “We will serve the Lord our God. We will obey him alone.”
That is why I want to take some time to share with you what I received from the incredible Tom Ziglar, son of the business and success coach Zig Ziglar. The email I share a portion of today was titled “never give up”, and that is just what I challenge you and me to do… never give up.
Here is what Tom Ziglar shared:
When the storms of disruption, challenge, and change come, here are a few things you can do to come out stronger on the other side of the slog:
Choose your attitude - acknowledge challenges are always coming and create the right mindset and muscles before you need them.
Revisit your Why - this creates perseverance and purpose in the storm.
Reach out - to your Who, Mentor, or Coach.
Start the day right - Focus on Gratitude, Goals, and your Why.
Step back and try something else - reflect on what isn’t working and ask yourself what else can you try and who else can you ask.
Create momentum - get some wins in other areas of your life like getting some exercise or taking some time with a trusted friend.
Understand the power of incrementalism - break the big challenge into different parts, and then improve each part just a little bit each day.
The story you tell yourself - make it epic! Remind yourself that disruption is your competitive advantage and see yourself learning, growing and coming out stronger.
