There are so many things that have to get done every day, but they don’t.
If you are like me, I get discouraged when my list isn’t completed. But what is it that keeps us going? There ought to be some things that help us keep on track, take care of our thoughts and feelings, and push us to keep on.
In a conversation with a few friends we shared some of the things that keep people from moving on and enjoying life. Typically it isn’t the normal hang up and struggles. Typically it is what is behind those struggles.
So, I will ask this question: who determines your value? Is it what you do? Is it what you have? Is it where you live or what is in the bank or how you look? All of those things aren’t what should determine our value.
God determines our value. Or as a current Christian song says.
Cory Asbury in “The Father’s House” …
Sometimes on this journey, I get lost in my mistakes
What looks to me like weakness is a canvas for Your strength
And my story isn't over, my story's just begun
And failure won't define me 'cause that's what my Father does
Yeah, failure won't define me 'cause that's what my Father does
That is what my father does … our heavenly Father determines our worth. He take cares of what I cannot do on my own. It was through Jesus that my life and abundance has been determined. Therefore, I will lean on God and let God do what He does best.
Ephesians 1:3-8 NLT
All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ. 4 Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. 5 God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure. 6 So we praise God for the glorious grace he has poured out on us who belong to his dear Son. 7 He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins. 8 He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding.
Again, that is what my Father does. Let Him.
I am blessed. So are you.
I am loved. So are you.
I am free and forgiven. So are you.
God in His kindness has done this and more. All the while your value and mine has been set, determined and gifted to us. Why? Because that is what my father does!
