focus on what matters

Psalms 19:1-2   NASB The heavens are telling (declaring) of the glory of God; And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands.   Day to day pours forth speech, And night to night reveals knowledge. I read a Facebook post from friend earlier this week that said he was going to sleep on the couch with only the Christmas tree lights on.   He used the words peace and joy and talked about the greatness of the season. Many of the things that are prevalent during this season do wonderful things to help us stop and look at our Savior and the sweetness of the season and of the reality of the Gospel.   Some of these things stick out in my mind, but one of the most critical things I am embracing is how busy we all seem with life.   It is at that time that we have trouble focusing on Jesus. in awe of the savior

Earlier this week I shared the following verses with our church staff, and I am still in awe of all God did by bringing Jesus to earth as well as using Mary and Joseph.   Read through the verses.   I will share some thoughts afterwards. LUKE 1   NLT 35  The angel replied, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the baby to be born will be holy, and he will be called the Son of God. 36  What’s more, your relative Elizabeth has become pregnant in her old age!
