Moving in to the New Year we hear so many things. Some people are excited about the possibilities while others mark it all with the same old negative and mundane life. Remember that I believe that God has not called us to live life, day in and day out, just surviving. We are meant to thrive. Make some positive choices in this New Year. As my family was about to leave Tulsa, Oklahoma after our Christmas week there, my brother leaning in the window of my truck and told me a story that has stuck in my mind. He said that a friend sent him a picture in a message of a pastor in a very poor country. The picture of the pastor’s bed which looked a lot like a hospital bed collapsed on the floor. Someone said they wanted to bless him with more, but what the pastor said caught their attention (as it caught mine, and I loosely quote)… stop focusing on what you have rather than on what you don’t have. That is huge....
