Communion is one of the grandest places of the church.   It is where we come together as a family to remember what Jesus has done for us.   The bread and the cup are gifts from God representing His best for us. Welcome to the place where we meet Jesus, where He changes our lives and where we reflect on what He has done and what we are going to do.   That is not one singular place but many.   It is also not a few minutes of time but much time. Jesus spent 3 years of his life with the men we know as the disciples, his closest followers and friends.   Not many days before the cross and the resurrection, Jesus called these men to celebrate a meal together. 2 Timothy 3:14-17   NLT But you must remain faithful to the things you have been taught. You know they are true, for you know you can trust those who taught you. 15  You have been taught the holy Scriptures from childhood, and they have given you the wisdom to receive the salvation that comes by trusting in Christ Jesus. 16  All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. 17  God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work. Many people live life based on a set of standards that no one knows.   Seems that their choices are based on things that cannot last, on thoughts that cannot be proven or on people who will let them down.   I’m really talking about a life without faith. Turn another direction and you will find people who live by a strict code of conduct that seems to come to the conclusion that you have to keep the law to be good, to be accepted by God or even to inherit salvation.   Even if we use the law of God, no one can keep those standards. Neither of is right.   It is the people who find peace in God and who passionately follow God that come to the place and to the life that leads to even more peace.   It is these people who find their strength refreshed, their minds alert and their hearts warmed so that their actions are turned to help others experience the same peace that they have found.   We all need that peace. Tomorrow is almost here.   Our team of 12 is headed to Nicaragua to serve in several ways and solely for the purpose of sharing God’s love through acts of kindness, meeting needs and telling what God has done for us. The way we treat others speaks volumes about who we are and to what God has done in our lives.  To be impacted by the grace of God and giving others the grace of God we will understand that grace lives in our lives.  Grace was given to us by Jesus, and Jesus lives through our lives. Colossians 1:6   NLT This same Good News that came to you is going out all over the world.  It is bearing fruit everywhere by changing lives, just as it changed your lives from the day you first heard and understood the truth about God’s wonderful grace. His wonderful grace changed us, gave us eternal destiny as well as help to live differently.  Grace bears fruit in changed lives.  Ours and others changed!
