thank you for the Cuba trip support

I got back late Friday night from Cuba.  It was a wonderful trip full of adventure as well as seeing what God is doing with the sports ministry in Cuba.  Looking back it really is amazing and I am grateful for all the people who make this ministry and these trips possible. 1 Thessalonians 1:2  NLT   We always thank God for all of you and pray for you constantly. There are several people who give and help for each and every trip I take, and I want to say a huge THANK YOU.  Without these friends and faithful believers this would not be possible.  Furthermore, people would not hear the Gospel or have an opportunity to see the hand of God in and on their lives. Then there are the people and workers in Cuba who day in and out are making this ministry a priority and possible.  Thank you to the staff across the country, the families of each FCA staff member and all the supports across Cuba that love Jesus and know that He is the truth. say thank you

I am grateful.  Well, you have heard me say it numerous times.  But right now all I can say is “thank you” to God and to some other who are on my mind. Thank you to people who remember and push forward.  You know these people.  They are the ones who remind you of your purpose, who give you encouragement, who show up most often and more.  We all need these kind of people. I Thessalonians 5:11  NLT   So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing. I am thankful for our team at the speedway who served long hours, during hot temperatures and in tough situations.  We have a great partnership with people at our speedway, we have some folks who donated items needed, and we have a bunch of awesome volunteers who keep showing up. 1 Corinthians 16:18  NLT   They have been a wonderful encouragement to me, as they have been to you. You must show your appreciation to all who serve so well. Finally for this Monda...

a simple Thank You

"Thank you!" Do you what kind of difference that one little phrase makes?  It could change a situation from a negative to a positive.  It could change someone’s mind from doing something to stupid to living a good life for a change. It only takes a little breath, a little effort, a very short bit of time, but it might be as powerful as a bomb going off.  A bomb?  Where did that come from? James 3:5-6  NLT   In the same way, the tongue is a small thing that makes grand speeches. But a tiny spark can set a great forest on fire. 6 And among all the parts of the body, the tongue is a flame of fire. It is a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your entire body. It can set your whole life on fire, for it is set on fire by hell itself. Our tongues are powerful.  But that doesn’t seem to make a lot of sense.  When I eat ice, my tongue gets numb, and it is hard to talk.  I remember going to the dentist, and it seemed that my tongue went to sleep...

thank you Veterans

Psalm 112:9  NLT They share freely and give generously to   those   in need. Their good deeds will be remembered forever. They will have influence and   honor. Today is Memorial Day in the United States.  We are so blessed. We are blessed because of the land and country God has given us.  It is true that we can worship God and live good lives because of what God has done and how many have given, served and shared their lives for us. This is the day we choose to honor those who have served in our military to provide our safety and friend.  Many have fought in wars and in conflicts.  Many served in times known as peace.  But all gave their time, effort and even part of their lives so we could enjoy the freedom that we have. Stop today to thank a veteran.  Acknowledge those who have served. Both my grandfathers served.  One was in the Navy in World War II.  Ano...

Veterans: thank you for serving

I am grateful for those who have given of their time and energy to secure my freedom.   Tomorrow, July 11th, is the day our country sets aside as “Veteran’s Day”.   Reach out to those who serve and those who have served and say thank you!   Here is a post I shared a couple years ago… There are places you go and you see a military presence one of my favorite places is in an airport.  On several trips I’ve taken I have noticed the many military people traveling from place to place across this globe of ours.  A couple times I had conversations. The people I met were guys and girls, younger and older, and serving in various parts of our nation’s military.  My heart was always over come with gratitude for the hours, days, months and years given to defend and fight for the honor of bring free.  My mind turns back many years to a time when I was visiting my dad’s parents when they lived in view of the mountains of Colorado.  I noticed in ...

how to say "thank you"

Hebrews 12:28   NASB Therefore, since we receive a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us show gratitude , by which we may offer to God an acceptable service with reverence and awe; This past weekend was one of my favorite events in our year.   It is when the world comes to our community through the racing world, and we get to be part of Raceway Ministries work dealing with race fans, sharing our testimonies and serving.   It was a good weekend although it brought some challenges our way too. It takes me back to remember almost 13 years ago when I met Ron Pegram from Motor Racing Outreach.   He asked for a person from our ministry to share a Bible study with people who work in the media area.   That was a great experience.   A year or so later our Raceway Ministry group celebrated the years of our work, and Ron was one of our special guests at that event. The rest is almost what you would call history.   My path kept crossing with Ron...
