  This week is full of opportunities as well as well as preparing us for Easter.  It is full of all kinds of things from conversations, thoughts, struggles, emotions and even victories.  I look back to a devotion September of 2016. Here is that post:   Matthew 11:28-30  NLT Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. There are two ways people can hide these days.  One is to hide in fear hoping not to get caught.  The other is to hide in God and allow Him to protect and build us up. One makes things harder and more difficult.  One give you peace and more strength. One leads to more cover up and a need to hide from people and situations.  The other gives you the ability to face even bigger issues as they come up. There are some places that ought to be safe.  I mean safe as in you feel welcome, at peace and calm.  That would include where you can let your guard down because you know you won’t be attacked physically or emotionally.  These kinds of places are important. The first is our homes, and maybe you realize as I do that it is very easy to let our homes become a battleground rather than a safe zone.  This happens when we let our guard down, when we stop doing what God called us to do, when we start thinking about ourselves rather than helping others.  For our homes to be safe we have to realize we are on the same team and win when we are together.  Husbands and wives.  Parents and kids.  Family.  We are challenged to make our homes safe places. Another place that ought to be a safe zone is our churches, and if you are like me, you’ve seen lots of churches that look more like war than peace.  Again, when we think that our agenda is...

Emotions are high. Looking around us and throughout the world there are so many things going that impact our lives.  Seriously. They might not impact our house or the weather around our house, but they impact our emotions, sway our thinking and even make us stop and think. There are a few topics that continue to run through my thinking, and what I know and continue to share is that God will meet our needs.  He may use one of many different ways to do it. I choose to trust Him.  What I need to do is encourage those who are following God to be faithful. Be faithful in your time with God, daily.  Be faithful to the people God has put in your sphere of influence, all of them.  Be faithful with the resources you have been given, be generous and support your church. I will share more later this week or next on this topic.
